Study Away

Study Away (international and domestic) scholarships help cover the cost of your trip.

Step 1: Meet Requirements

  1. You must be an enrolled undergraduate or graduate student majoring in a FACS degree program and a participant of a FACS approved Study Away program, which includes both international and domestic destinations. Programs outside of FACS do not qualify for scholarships.
  2. Any scholarship criteria that mentions enrollment in a specific major as a condition for eligibility requires that you be admitted to the major.
  3. To be awarded, you must meet any additional criteria that are specific to the scholarship eligibility requirements as stipulated in the fund agreement.
  4. You will need to ask one faculty member for a reference.  Get approval from a faculty member before selecting them as a reference on a scholarship application.  References are due by 5:00pm on October 12.

Step 2: Apply

The application will activate on August 1 and deactivate on October 5.

To avoid being timed out on the application, please review the scholarship questions and application rubric before submitting your application.

Please apply here.

When emailing facsassocdeans@uga.edu regarding scholarships, please allow up to 48 business hours for a response.

If the faculty reference has not been received by the deadline, then our office will contact the faculty reference directly in an effort to obtain the required information. If the reference is still not received by the deadline, then students will be notified accordingly. Please note that applications will not be considered without a completed faculty reference.
